Croatia’s home grown genius Mate Rimac loses out on the award to Brazil’s Rubens Menin in Monte Carlo.

As SibenikIN writes on the 17th of June, 2018, Croatia’s beloved Mate Rimac unfortunately failed to be recognised as the best new EY world entrepreneur of the year, the title instead going to Brazil’s Rubens Menin from MRV Engenharia. The prestigious global award ceremony took place on Saturday night in glamourous Monte Carlo.

The title of the best entrepreneur in the world was taken by the well known Brazilian businessman and co-founder of the MRV Engenharia company, otherwise Brazil’s leading house builder with a massive market capitalisation of 1.4 billion dollars. Menin and his company are known for constructing homes for people with low-income, he won the prestigious award in competition with 56 national winners from 46 countries.

This year’s international gathering brought together eminent entrepreneurs from all over the world, and their sheer level of success power is undoubtedly best illustrated by the fact that 56 of them employ as many as 110,000 people, and in the past year alone, their total revenues amounted to barely comprehensible figures, as much as 23 billion dollars.

The five-day program dedicated to all things entrepreneurial was held amid the sparkling luxury of Monte Carlo, and one of the biggest stars was Croatia’s supercar mastermind, Mate Rimac, who appeared on CNBC in the days before the Monte Carlo award ceremony, and has given an interview for the internationally respected Financial Times, according to Index.
