“E-citizens” is the best European project in the category “Open Government for the Enhancement of Public Services”

At the global summit Partnership for Open Government, which is taking place in Mexico City until October 29, 2015, “E-citizens”, a project created by the Croatian government was voted the best in Europe in the category “Open government for the enhancement of public services”.

The award was accepted by Joško Klisović, Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs on behalf of the Croatian Government.

“Croatian government has achieved the greatest advancement in providing high quality public service in Europe and that is why we have received this award presented by the international initiative Partnership for Open Government. This award is an international recognition of continuous and dedicated work of the Croatian government on the openness, transparency and inclusion of citizens in shaping the public. Independent experts at the summit have listed Croatia among the most successful states in the implementation of goals and principles of the Partnership for open government. The government’s action plan and its implementation received the highest possible grades so I would like to congratulate everyone who participated in this project. I am sure this will motivate us to raise the quality of our public service to an even higher level” said Klisović.


Croatia received this award for its “E-citizenship” project, which enables all Croatian citizens a modern, simplified and speedy communication with public administration. The project also enhances public sector’s transparency. 23 experts from 19 countries were in the awards panel.
