May the 14th, 2025 – Czech tourists appear to be showing considerably less interest in Croatia in 2025, with Czech travel agencies seeing travellers pick other countries.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Czech tourists appear to be showing less interest in Croatia in general in 2025, but there’s a slightly heightened interest in exploring the country outside of the realm of the sunshine and sea, as well.
The Czech tourists who are still showing interest in Croatia this year are becoming increasingly attracted by hiking and cycling during the cooler off-season. Summer remains the busiest period, but it seems that many Czech agencies have been recording less interest in Croatia in 2025 compared to last year.
The travel agency Invia has recorded a 19 percent drop in interest in Croatia from Czech tourists. According to the director of discount portal Slevomat, Tomaš Braverman, the reason for this is primarily prices in Croatia are now comparable to those in Italy or Austria. That agency has recorded eight times more bookings for Egypt than for Croatia, according to a report from Dnevnik.hr.
“If we’re looking at the sales, Croatia is no longer the most popular summer destination for Czechs. We noticed this last year. Much of this is related to the price of accommodation,” Braverman said. “What we’re seeing as the biggest trend is the growing interest in Poland. It’s still relatively cheap there, but the services are at a very high level. At the same time, the Baltic Sea is no longer as cold as it used to be,” he added.
Some agencies say that Czech interest is about the same as last year, but they emphasise that Croatia is increasingly becoming a year-round destination, and so the main summer period shouldn’t be the only time of year data is collected on, as has traditionally been the case.
This year, holidays in Croatia this year will generally cost about the same as they did last year. According to travel agents, accommodation will increase in price by up to five percent. According to them, Istria remains the most popular destination in all of Croatia for Czech tourists.
In terms of transportation, 60 percent of the clients of these agencies intend to travel to Croatia by car. A fifth of clients choose bus and plane equally. As of July the 2nd this year, Václav Havel Airport in Prague will resume its connection with Zagreb Airport. However, according to Klara Divíšková, spokesperson for the Čedok travel agency, the interest in tickets hasn’t really been great so far, Blesk reports.
Czech tourists travelled the most to Italy last year. According to data from the Czech Statistical Office, Croatia fell to second place, from the first place it held two years ago.
