June the 13th, 2025 – Križevci is stepping up its game in terms of the environment and sustainability by constructing infrastructure for electric minibuses.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Križevci in continental Croatia isn’t a place that gets to enjoy much of the limelight, but it is making impressive moves. The latest of them is the construction of a turning area and car park for electric minibuses which recently began on Tomislavova Ulica (Street). The aforementioned is a prerequisite for the establishment of free public city transport.
The works were recently visited by Deputy Mayor Danijel Šaško and Advisor for Energy Efficiency, Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning Ivana Dubravec. The pair pointed out that the works should be completed within just one month.
As part of the works in Križevci which will result in infrastructure for electric minibuses, a station will also be built. This will be excellent for locals given the proximity of the railway station, according to Križevci’s administration. The contractor is the Park and Tehnologik joint venture, and the value of the project stands at 230,000 euros.
The construction works going on in Križevci and the eventual electric minibuses will mean free transport along certain routes. The contract for the actual purchase of the vehicles was signed by the Križevci Entrepreneurial Centre and a company named Wawa from Sveta Nedjelja, which was selected as part of the public procurement procedure.
Thus far, three electric minibuses have been purchased for the purpose of introducing free public city transport, 26 bus stops have been built at several locations across Križevci, and now the construction of this roundabout and bus car park remain.
