Newly appointed Slovenian arbitrator resigns.
Judge Ronny Abraham resigned late yesterday from his post as the Arbitrator in the arbitrary proceedings between Slovenia and Croatia.
According to his official press statement, judge Abraham informed the Tribunal that he accepted the position hoping his appointment would “help regain trust between the countries and enable normal continuation of court proceedings”.
As he also stated, once he realised that “current situation cannot meet those expectations”, he decided it was “no longer appropriate” for him to act as the arbitrator in these proceedings.
In accordance with the Arbitration agreement, Slovenia must now appoint another arbitrator within 15 days to replace judge Abraham. Ljubljana appointed judge Abraham on July 27th after the “Pirangate” affair broke causing their arbitrator Jernej Sekolec to resign.
