Croatia to Play England at Wembley

Sam Allardyce is the new English football coach, with his first official game on the bench of Gordy Albion against Croatia

Qualifications for the World Cup in Russia begin on September 4, but before they get into the fray, Croatia and England will face off in a friendly duel, Tportal.hr reported on July 25, 2016.

The game is set for September 1 in Wembley, three days before the English play a qualifying game with Slovakia in Trnava, and the Croats four days ahead of opening their qualification group with Turkey in Zagreb’s Maksimir.

English media wrote this will be a true test for Allardyce, reminding of the duel of these two teams eight years ago in Wembley when Croatia toppled England in qualifications and prevented them from playing in the Euro Cup.
