It’s news to no one that Croatia’s beauty has attracted millions of visitors from all over the world, and those who visit the island of Ugljan this summer will be able to testify to a new attraction: the stunning new football pitch by local club NŠK Sveti Mihovil, reports Gol.hr on May 8, 2018.
The football club, which is located in Sutomišćica on the eastern coast, represents two islands – Ugljan and Pašman. In a picture perfect location on the shore just a few meters from the sea, the local club did not hesitate to renovate this gem – and believe it or not, the pitch was in such poor condition not so long ago, it even grew potatoes!
The new digs for the local club will be further enhanced as Sveti Mihovil hosts Croatian First League club NK Osijek on May 14 at 18:00, which was announced by Osijek goalkeeper Krševan Santini who was born in Lukoran on the island of Ugljan.
We dare to say that we have not seen a more beautiful football pitch in ages – and we wouldn’t be surprised if NŠK Sveti Mihovil’s new dress catches the eyes of international media for being one of the most breathtaking locations to play football in the world.
Although Croatian football infrastructure is infamous for being less than average, it wouldn’t be the first time Croatian stadiums made such a prestigious list – remember, Imotski’s Gospin Dolac is already a BBC favorite.
