It’s Official: Soudani Leaves Dinamo After 5 Years, Signs with Nottingham Forest

The best foreign player in the history of Dinamo has officially joined his new club, Nottingham Forest.

Another transfer is complete for the summer period as El Arbi Hilal Soudani became a new member of Nottingham Forest, reports Goal.hr on June 29, 2018.

The Algerian footballer had many offers on his table; from the Italians (Cagliari) and numerous Arab clubs, but the best foreign player in the history of Dinamo decided to continue his career in England, thus becoming a new member of English Championship side Nottingham Forest.

After the sale of Borna Sosa and Ante Ćorić, Dinamo has been left without yet another crucial player from last season, and Soudani will hardly be easy to replace. Nenad Bjelica has a wide range of quality football players, including Kadzior, Šitum, Menalo, Olmo, Oršić, Hajrović, and Fiolić, but the Algerian was the best scorer of last season – and was one of the leaders of the team.

El Arbi Hilal Soudani made his way to England on Thursday and successfully performed all medical examinations. Later that evening, Soudani was presented on the official website of Nottingham Forest as a new player of the club.

The former Dinamo player had always dreamed of playing in England, and an extra nudge was that the colors of Nottingham Forest are already worn by his fellow countryman, Adlene Guedioura, who ultimately managed to persuade Soudani to join the English club.

“After five beautiful years in the Dinamo shirt, the time has come for new challenges, and today I have realized my childhood dream of playing in England. To all the fans of Dinamo, the club management, and my teammates, I want to thank you for the beautiful moments in the blue jersey. I will always carry Dinamo in my heart and be your fan,” Soudani said.

The Zagreb club will collect more than two million euros for the services of their best player – and with the salary of a million euro, Soudani was also the highest paid Dinamo player. In the Dinamo jersey, Soudani was Croatian champion four times, raised three Croatian Cups and one Supercup, and became one of the best players in the history of the Zagreb club.
