22 year old pole vaulter Ivan Horvat made it to the finals

Great news from the “Bird’s nest” in Beijing. Ivan Horvat, Croatian 22 year old pole vaulter made it to the finals of the World Athletics Championship with the new national record of 5,70 m.

Horvat managed to jump over the qualifying norm in his third attempt and if he failed, he would have missed out on the final competition given that 12 pole vaulters already qualified before him.
