In recent years, Dubrovnik has become a popular destination for fitness lovers, particularly runners!
With several different races held throughout the year, Dubrovnik has grown in popularity when it comes to athletically minded people, giving the city a chance to be viewed from a slightly different angle than the usual historical bastion and, more recently, a Game of Thrones set. Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik offers an unusual experience to those who love to run, in fact, one of the main events of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival is DuRun10K, the first ever New Year’s Day race to take place annually in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With all that being said, it looks as if it is time for another Dubrovnik run! This time on Sunday the 21st of May, 2017, beginning at 11:00 in Sumet. The race will be a 7K one all in all, but divided into two rounds of 3.5km, the track is fairly straight and shouldn’t pose too much of an effort (so they say!) and participation is completely free.
This will be the last race of the spring, giving way to a hot summer in the city full of tourists. Autumn will give way to more races in and around the city, including Slano 8K, Lokrum 9K and of course, the previously mentioned Dubrovnik 10K!
