Daniela Rogulj

Continuing our look at the sustainable hotels in Croatia, today we bring you Aminess Hotels & Campsites, located throughout Istria and Dalmatia.

Formerly known as Laguna Novigrad, Aminess Hotels & Campsites boasts six locations throughout Istria and Dalmatia. With a vision committed to creating relaxing experiences for their guests, the Aminess brand is also committed to implementing their Environmental Protection Policy and proactive measures for environmental preservation and sustainability for future generations.

According to the Aminess website, here’s how the hotel is dedicated to green practices.

– Aminess meets all relevant obligations as mandated by law and takes proactive measures geared towards meeting future requirements and standards

– Aminess reduces the quantity of waste by establishing operational procedures and assessing their maximum effectiveness

– Aminess preserves natural resources through the responsible use of energy, water, and materials while maintaining the quality of services our guests expect

– Aminess monitors the results achieved by the reduction, recycling and re-use of waste materials and energy and the continual improvement of these measures

– Aminess collaborates with suppliers that also implement policies aimed at protecting the environment and mitigating unfavorable impacts on the environment

– Aminess reduces pollution producing emissions through the selection and utilization of efficient fuels and sources of energy

– Aminess actively promotes recycling and waste sorting within the company and by guests, users, and suppliers

– Aminess ensures that measures implemented are under constant review, are constantly improved and passed on to all participants in the work process

In addition, through the Aminess eco-initiative, the hotel produces their own award-winning Vergal olive oil which is a symbol of working with the natural environment to produce a quality and locally-sourced product.

Aminess was the first location in North-West Istria to offer an electric car battery charging station which is now located at Hotel Maestral – and is free for guests!

For 14 years, Aminess beaches have been awarded the Blue Fag which is a certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) that a beach, marina or sustainable boating tourism operator meets its stringent standards.

Aminess Maestral was recognized with the Travelife ‘Gold Award’ from UPUHH under the Ministry of Tourism. Certificates were also given to Aminess Grand Azur Hotel and Aminess Lume Hotel, while Camp Aminess Sirena was awarded an eco-camping environmental award from Germany in October 2015.

Furthermore, Aminess uses simple measures such as separators for oils and fats, green spaces for the organic production of food for their restaurants using horse manure, and they even increase thermal technology. They also pride themselves on having cycling-friendly hotels.

Aminess truly keeps the environment at the forefront of their business practices, and we look forward to seeing their eco-story develop.

Bravo, Aminess Hotels & Campsites!
