Echappées Belles: Croatian Tourist Offer Presented on French National Television, See it Here!

The stories of Croatia were aired on French national television over the weekend through the 90-minute program “Echappées belles.”

Last weekend, French national television station France 5 presented a 90-minute program featuring the many stories of Croatia, announced the Ministry of Tourism on June 20, 2017. 

The program “Echappées belles,” which aired last Saturday in their in the primetime slot at 20:50, presented Croatia as the youngest member of the European Union with incredible natural heritage, rich culture, a series of protected monuments on the UNESCO list, and a country with extremely hospitable people. The show depicted the famous tourist destination through unknown facts about the lives and customs of the local population, while particular emphasis was placed on active tourism and gastronomy. The program, which was seen by more than two million viewers, was supported by the Croatian National Tourist Board.

Thus, many French viewers had the opportunity to meet Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Hvar, Dugi Otok, Pašman, Brtonigla, Buzet, Pula, Gorski Kotar, Kuterevo, and national parks Paklenica and Brijuni. The program detailed Croatia’s connection between man and sea, the rich maritime traditions, trends in the production of local organic agricultural products, and the valuable historical heritage seen through the daily life and historical events. 

The show’s host, Raphael de Casabianca, said it best:

“I am amazed at the wealth of the country, and the many influences that can be found in the architecture, gastronomy and Croatian temperament. It is a country at the crossroads of Central Europe and the Mediterranean. Slavic character, Latin culture and Mediterranean style. While the first moment of contact may seem cold, the moment you gain confidence, the human heart speaks.”
