Ana Rucner takes on new challenges while filming on Velebit mountain.
Last night, in Gospić, a new, attractive video for the Gospić Tourist Board titled ‘Gospić Full of Energy‘ was presented as part of the Autumn Festival in Lika. Dominated by the stunning landscape scenery, the video was shot at several very attractive locations such as Velebit Nature Park, the Museum Center of Nikola Tesla, the memorial house of Ante Starčević. The Osijek-based company FILM 54, winner of many awards for their tourist videos, led by director Boris Šeper, has faithfully captured all the attractions of Gospić, emphasizing the emotional experience of visitors. Famous Croatian cellist Ana Rucner appears in the video, whose music off the album eXpression perfectly fit in with the dynamic of the video. In the video, Ana Rucner can be seen wearing a lovely dress that features design elements of traditional embroidery from Lika, which was made by the Dota Association for the Conservation of Traditional Culture.
In order to lure the viewer in and demonstrate the unique beauty and experience, the video is made of short, content-packed and stunning scenes that show off everything the town of Gospić has to offer, including tradition, gastronomy, the beauty of Velebit peaks and trails, adventure, nature and the coexistence and special relationship between the townsfolk and nature which they love and appreciate. Along with the beautiful landscapes and scenes of the city and its surroundings, a very important place in the video is occupied by Velebit. Actually, a great part of the video was recorded in Visočica, at 1619 meters above sea level.
“The emotional experience of a visitor is a recurring feeling throughout the every segment of the video. It took us almost two months to film this video; we hiked and walked almost 100 kilometres. In search of the best day and night scenes, we went paragliding, drove through almost intact parts of Lika and spent many nights in nature waiting for the right moments to be captured on film. We also used a modern timelapse technique. One of the important elements of the video is music, which frequently changes the rhythm, making the video more dynamic and interesting,” said director and filmmaker Boris Šeper.
Ana Rucner, who has taken on new challenges, such as playing on rocks and in high altitudes, has already taken part in many award-winning tourist videos. Recently the video Alkarski Ponos (Alkar Pride), which she shot for The Alka Knights Association from Sinj, won the first prize at the Zagreb Tour Festival, while the second prize was awarded for the video Kopački rit, which she presented in cooperation with the Osijek-Baranja County Chamber of Commerce last year. This video for me was a completely new and incredible experience and a great challenge. Shooting at Visočica, one of the peaks of Velebit mountain, at 1619 metres, in fierce wind and cold would not be feasible without the help of HGSS Gospić. These dear, noble and above all humble people deserve great respect for everything they do and I’m glad they were part of this beautiful story. Many thanks to Tourist Board Gospić for choosing me to take part in this amazing video,” said our famous cellist Ana Rucner.
Director of TB Gospić, Maja Strilić pointed out that tourist videos today are a ‘must have’ tool for tourist promotion of cities and regions. She added that various motives and activities that make up the totality of the tourist offer of Gospić are filmed according to the idea and imagination of the Tourist Board of Gospić, and believes that this film, which very faithfully represents the traditional, cultural and natural beauty of this city, will contribute to increasing the number of visitors. She also expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the making of the video. Miss Croatia, Tea Mlinarić, who is from Lika-Senj County, will soon bring the video along to China where she will present her homeland at Miss World 2017.
