The President of Korean Air, Won-Tae Cho, said in an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper that the next generation of fuel-efficient jets, such as the Boeing 787-9, will allow the airline to “reduce costs and improve the business”. Mr Won-Tae Cho added, “This will give us an opportunity to improve our results and expand in markets such as Croatia and Marseille. We will focus on various overseas routes”.
With up to ten weekly charter flights from May till October, Zagreb is the most served destination in the airline’s summer charter programme. The airline has a codeshare agreement with Czech Airlines, so it owns a 44% share in flights between Prague and Zagreb, and a Bilateral Air Service Agreement allows Korean Air to operate seven weekly flights to Zagreb.
