76.5 Million Euros Spent at Ultra Europe 2023

August the 10th, 2023 – Opinions are always divided about Ultra Europe, which takes place in Split each summer, but nobody can get upset with the amount of money pumped into the country. A massive 76.5 million euros was spent at Ultra Europe 2023.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Crnjak writes, judging by the first figures being reported at this moment in time, the ninth edition of the Ultra Europe Festival has been the most successful so far. The organisers are already preparing for the jubilee 10th edition of the festival next summer, with Ultra Europe 2023 having been visited by 150,000 fans from a record 143 countries in a span of seven days.

The first estimates says that those visitors spent almost 80 million euros in the Split region in that one week period. Most of the guests were from Spain, the USA, Australia, Great Britain, France, Germany, Croatia, Norway, Italy and Poland. There were also visitors from countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Andorra, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Algeria, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The promotion of Croatia as a destination

More than 200,000 overnight stays were recorded during Ultra Europe 2023, and guests came by car, bus, train, plane, and on more than 150 vessels. The Ultra Europe sea fleet consisted of ten impressive luxury yachts and more than 150 sailboats, while the air fleet, in addition to numerous regular airlines, also saw the arrival of 60 private planes.

“No festival in the world can boast of such marine traffic, which is just another confirmation that Split, Hvar, Brač and Vis and the unique concept of the festival as a unique destination musical event, were a complete hit. It also goes to show that this is the right direction for the touristic positioning of Croatia among the younger festival-going population from across the world,” emphasised the organiser, MPG Live, which has been the exclusive organiser and promoter of the Ultra Europe Festival since 2017.

Ultra Europe 2023 attracted Huge amounts of attention on all platforms

More than 3,000 people participated in the organisation of Ultra Europe 2023, visitors were entertained by more than 200 DJs on 9 stages, and the festival was covered by more than 200 accredited domestic and foreign journalists.

“This festival is an opportunity to promote the destination, and the social media platform it has is one of the largest in the region,” the organiser pointed out. More than 3 million impressions were made during Ultra Europe 2023, and the festival could also be followed via live streaming on Facebook and YouTube. As a result of that possibility, almost 4 million users were recorded, with these numbers growing every day, because the best moments can still be watched on all official channels of the festival.

Strategic importance for Croatia

“The Croatian Government has declared this festival a strategically important project, due to its positive multiplier effects on the Croatian economy and the promotion of Croatia as a tourist destination. With the growth of the festival and these very impressive achieved results. It has been estimated that the total consumption during Ultra Europe 2023 amounts to a minimum of 76,500,000 euros. This data still needs to be officially confirmed by the relevant institutions in the coming days,” MPG Live concluded.
