July 18, 2024 – After two years a Cirque du Soleil author, a Tony Award winner and one of the world’s biggest clowns David Shiner is coming back to Zagreb! Theatre Exit, Triko Circus Theatre and Ivan Đuričić production of Shiner’s new show will run under the starry sky on Theatre Exit’s summer stage in Park Ribnjak. The clown who entertained audiences on the streets of Paris and then took over Broadway will perform his show Komik Motion for Zagreb audiences for 4 nights.
In addition to scenes created by clowning during difficult times, Shiner and his clowns will perform few of the routines which skyrocketed this Cirque du Soleil author to fame. This way Theatre Exit’s audiences will get a chance to travel through time and space from Park Ribnjak to Broadway.
Through this slapstick comedy, viewers will laugh at other people’s mistakes and stop to take their own too seriously. After all, we are just creatures made of flesh and blood traveling through Space on this big round rock. Forget the clowns that come with burgers. These are for a bit more mature audiences, the ones that pay the bills, want to tell their boss off and go on more or less successful dates.
There is no language barrier, our differences are irrelevant because we all come with the same wish: to laugh our heads off. Broadway will be in Zagreb on July 18th, 19th, 26th and 27th on the rooftop terrace of the Youth Centre Ribnjak and for those vacationing around Croatia, the clowns will travel to Split Summer Festival (July 21st), Hvar Summer Festival (July 22nd), Sisak CULtural Summer KKV (July 23rd) and Osijek Summer of Culture (July 25th).
