With a bevy of boutique music festivals hitting the Croatian market, there are almost too many to name, and you’ll most likely need three of you to go to them all. A particularly cool music festival, Indirekt, is the beacon of independent art – and we’re here to tell you all about it.
The first true indie music festival in Istria, Indirekt is in its fourth consecutive year this year. This two-day music and art festival hosts the best independent artists in the region in a unique atmosphere that erases the boundaries between performers and the audience.
The first evening is reserved for relaxation with gentle melodies of domestic and foreign songwriters, followed by a program focusing on electro indie artists. Livelier rhythms will mark the second night of the festival, filled with performances by extremely promising bands and all-night DJ sets.
These two days will marry music entertainment with renowned names in the street art and comic art scene.
Indirekt festival is held from the 17th to 18th of June. In an effort to revive the city, Indirekt is held in the center of Umag, which will be the focus of art events and exhibitions coupled with musical stages.
As Indirekt is a “beacon for independent art”, their goal is to show you prospective and quality artists within the independent scene. Raising awareness for quality independent music, Indirekt exists to expose you to new and old artists under the radar, many that you may not have been given the opportunity to see or even hear.
