Čilić is in his first Wimbledon semifinals!
Marin Čilić celebrated a 3-2 win against Gilles Müller in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon! This is the first time in his career that he has reached the semifinals of the tournament. Čilić celebrated the win after five sets with scores of 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5, 5-7, 6-1, reports Gol.hr on July 12, 2017.
In addition to achieving his personal best, Čilić has a great chance to win the Wimbledon final after Sam Querrey shocked world number one Andy Murray and advanced to the semifinals. Čilić has played Querrey four times in his career and has won each time.

Čilić had a disastrous first set where Müller broke him twice. He began to play in the second set and began holding his serve, but still failed to do any damage to Müeller’s service. Čilić was behind in the mini-break, but in the end, he came back to level the score.
Marin’s game kept getting better and better, and he began winning his service games, ultimately winning the third set.
In the fourth set, Čilić and Müller replaced their roles in the end and Müller made a break from nothing to set up a 2-2 with his service.
However, Čilić played the fifth set masterfully. He took a 5-0 lead after a series of great moves, especially on his return service. With a clean 6-1, Marin has advanced to his first semifinals of Wimbledon.
This will be the fourth semifinal in a Grand Slam tournament for Čilić, having previously played two at the US Open and one at the Australian Open.
