Split-Dalmatia County has presented three tourist projects which expect millions of kuna from non-refundable EU funds.
On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban, along with both deputy prefectures and associates, presented three tourism projects in the county which would involve millions of kuna from non-refundable EU funds, reports Dalmacija.hr on December 27, 2017.
The new Dugopolje Visitor Center is the first of projects the County can look forward to said Split-Dalmatia County. The leader and initiator of the project are Split-Dalmatia County, and the value of the project, in the professional and tourism sense, is already monitored and recognized by the Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry has previously allowed the maximum initial resources in several national tenders, ensuring that the demanding work on the construction is done on the Visitor Center promptly.
Precisely, the project realizes the building and the permanent display of the Visitor Center, which will guide tourists to different natural heritage sites in Split-Dalmatia County through multimedia, applications, and through even more educational paths and schools in nature designed in cooperation with a large number of partners and associates. Thus, the whole tourist offer and sights of Split-Dalmatia County will be presented at a single place.
Split-Dalmatia County
The total value of the project is HRK 34,548,821.61, of which the maximum amount of co-financing is HRK 20,000,000 from EFRR. Part of the funds is already secure through public tenders by the Ministry of Tourism. The contract is expected to be signed in February 2018, and by 2023, all works should be completed.
Partners of the project are the local self-government units of the City of Kaštela, the City of Split, the Municipality of Dugopolje and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Dugopolje, the Tourist Board of Kaštela and the Tourist Board of Split. Additionally, an essential partner for the project is the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of Nature in the area of Split-Dalmatia County MORE AND KRŠ.
Extensive collaboration with the Žrnovnica Primary School has already been included in the project, and an expanded spectrum of all interested contributors are involved in its realization, which will contribute to the implementation of the project and its sustainability after its completion through the experience and knowledge of the space and local natural values.
City of Solin
Another project that will see the County’s participation as a partner is “Jadro – a source of life”, worth HRK 24 million. This project is aimed at valorizing the source of the Jadro River to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the town of Solin and the broader urban agglomeration.
Split-Dalmatia County also expects to participate in yet another worthy project titled ”Biševo Blue Cave” on the island of Biševo along with the Komiža municipality. The value of the project amounts to HRK 27 million.
