Two world boat premieres are expected: Ranieri Next 240 SH and Grand G 420 as well as 24 Croatian premieres
he Zagreb Nautical Fair to be held from Wednesday to Sunday at the Zagreb Fairgrounds will be the largest in this decade! The announcement press conference noted the six pavilions will host over 300 presenters from 23 nations and over 200 boats. Compared to last year, this is a 10 percent expansion in fair surface area and 8 percent in ship numbers. The fair will be attended by the most significant Croatian shipbuilders: Pičuljan, Grginić jahte, PearlSea, Bura brodovi, Arba, Tušek, Remia plast, Bimex, Leidi, Ramina, JK Nautika and Barracuda. At this year’s fair boat lovers will be able to explore the nautical offer of the Italian Calabria region which has a long shipbuilding tradition, with the finest examples of their vessels on display in Pavilion 7. The fair will also present an abundant offer of outboard engines, with almost all present on the Croatian market in one place – Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Steyr, and Mercury. The nautical fair will also host many presenters of equipment and boat and yacht supplies, diving and fishing equipment, nautical clothing and footwear.
Nations participating in this year’s fair are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Denmark, France, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, China, Hungary, The Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, United Stated, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Through a humanitarian drive for autistic children named “Not Breathing,” Budimir Buda Šobat will attempt to achieve something no one has managed before – top the Guinness record of 24:03 minutes in a static freedive. The drive is taking place as part of the manifestation “View into the Blue,” organized by the Nemo Adria Rescue Team. All visitors will be able to try diving in a large pool supervised by diving instructors.
Expert events include a session of the Small Shipbuilding Association organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy. A new Maritime Law of Croatia is in the works, regulating everything connected to sailing the Croatian part of the Adriatic. Thus, the Nautical Sector Association of the Croatian Employers’ Association will organize a discussion titled “Ahead of the new Maritime Law,” with an accent on the nautical offer and nautical tourism of Croatia.
