CineStar has once again proved to be the leader of technology and innovation in the European cinema industry.
The largest and most modern cinema in Dalmatia – CineStar 4DX ™ at the Mall of Split – opened their doors last year to visitors from the Dalmatian capital and other parts of the region. This unique concept of a cinema and bar delights the people of Split every day, and last night it was recognized by members of the European branch of the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA), reports Dalmatinski Portal on June 11, 2018.
At this year’s CineEurope in Barcelona, which is the largest and most important European gathering of the cinematographic industry, awards were presented in three categories for 2018. The ICTA Award winners are the leaders of technology and innovation in the European cinematographic industry chosen by numerous members of the ICTA association. The prestigious award for ‘Best New Cinema’ was presented to the CineStar 4DX™ at the Mall of Split!
On behalf of Blitz-CineStar, the award was accepted in Barcelona by Jadranka Islamović, Executive Director and Member of the Management Board, Hrvoje Krstulović, Member of the Management Board, Branka Krstulović, Director of Marketing and Promotion of Blitz-CineStar, and Juliane Kieft, CineStar Kieft Group Representative.
“The prestigious ICTA award has come to us as the crown of 15 years of business, just before the completion of our 15th multiplex in Croatia – the CineStar multiplex in Pula, and the announcement of another multiplex in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. This is how we continue our investment cycle, which we have pursued since its inception in 2003. With this recognition, Blitz-CineStar once again proved to be a leader of technology and innovation in the cinematographic industry, and Croatia and Split have placed themselves on the map of the best European cinemas,” said Hrvoje Krstulović.
ICTA is an international network of experts from the cinema industry all over the world. ICTA members are companies that manufacture, service and distribute cinema equipment, and launch the trends of top-of-the-range innovative technologies within the industry. The other two ICTA awards were presented to the Zoo Palast Cinema in Berlin for the ‘Classic Cinema of the Year’, and the Village World Cinema in Athens for ‘Best Cinema of the Year’.
The CineStar 4DX at the Mall of Split is the largest cinema in Dalmatia, equipped with state-of-the-art technology that brings movie viewing to a whole new level. In addition to nine theater halls with 1386 seats and laser projectors, this multiplex in Split features a unique eXtreme hall as well as a completely revolutionary 4DX ™ hall where visitors can – from specially designed seats equipped with motion simulators that accompany the events on the screen – experience four-dimensional films with as many as 15 special 4DX™ effects. Because of the effects such as water, bubbles, fog, air, movement, light, smell, wind, snow, rainstorms and others, viewers are given a more realistic cinema experience, allowing the film to stimulate all the senses.
Along with the top technology, this Split theater also boasts an interior which uses the latest technology and the design of renowned interior designers. Cinema Bar, a unique, modern concept decorated by designer duo Dean Franić and Saša Šekoranja, has become one of Split’s favorite hangouts. The designers were careful to match the details in the space with varied art, from films to literature and architectural and graphic design, and incorporate it all into the overall interior design concept. The cinema also boasts two of the most modern children’s birthday rooms.
To date, the CineStar Cinemas Group has opened a total of 20 multiplex cinemas in Croatia and the region, with 129 digital auditoriums and over 20,500 seats. With nearly four million visitors a year, CineStar Cinemas is the largest and most successful cinema hall in Croatia and the region.
