Borgia To Be Filmed In Dubrovnik

After The Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik attracted another big TV production, TV series Borgia. It may be not as big as the HBO’s hit, and without stellar casting like The Borgias starred by Jeremy Irons. Still, Borgia is pretty successful, with grade 7.8 on IMDB  after two seasons.

Shooting of the third, final season begins in Dubrovnik on January 6, and will last about two weeks. Crew will mostly work on Lokrum island and in Dubrovnik’s old town that will revive the world of renaissance Florence and Vatican. Extras were already selected during December auditions, and everything is ready for another big TV moment of Dubrovnik.

Series depict the age and life of Rodrigo Borgia, later pope Alexander 6th, who rose to the ultimate power using all kind of scandals and plots against all his enemies, creating one of the most notorious chapters in the Catholic church history.
