The fifth edition of the Korkyra Baroque Festival will take place from September 3-17, hosting the most prestigious international and domestic ensembles, soloists, and specialists in Baroque music.

The Korkyra Baroque Festival was established in 2012 in an effort to promote local and international music and heritage. The impressive setting of cultural monuments on the island of Korčula has created a unique synergy for the Korkyra Baroque Festival, and it is regarded as an essential cultural event within the world music scene.

The fifth edition of the festival will host the most prestigious international and domestic music acts. Some of the notable performers will be Red Priest (UK), The Royal Wind Music (Netherlands), The European Union Baroque Orchestra, and world famous soloists such as the Italian countertenor Leandro Marziottea, the Italian flutist Marcello Gatti and Albanian guitarist Petrit Ceku.

This rich baroque repertoire will be joined by prominent Croatian ensembles, with vocal ensemble Antiphonus and the resident festival group Croatian Baroque Ensemble, under the artistic direction of the director of Korkyra Baroque Festival and the world-famous violinist Laura Vadjon.

There has been undeniable cultural tourism success from the Korkyra Baroque Festival, with this artistic musical offer four years in the running attracting tourists from around the world to improve the cultural richness of Korčula. These concerts are also promoting Korčula’s churches and monuments, as well as the whole of the island through a unique architectural complex.
