The new 27-story monstrosity will be 110 meters high!
“The largest tower in Croatia is still growing…a 27-story monster, 110 meters…a new viewpoint in Split ” writes the team behind CroDrone, revealing the progress of the new skyscraper “Westgate 2”. The new building is located at the intersection of Ulica Domovinskog rata and Put Stinica in Split, and the drone footage was filmed just two short weeks ago.
The supposed tallest tower in Croatia, located in the complex designed by architect Otto Barić, should be completed by Easter in 2018. Construction first began in January this year, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on November 20, 2017.
Josip Komar, CEO of the ”Westgate Group”, revealed back in January that Westgate’s tower “B” would ultimately be 110 meters high, making it the official tallest building in Croatia. And according to reports back in March of this year, the new building could become home to a Marriott International hotel.
What we do know for sure is that there will be six underground floors, a ground floor and 27 floors, making the total area of 35,000 square meters. The new building will be for multiple purposes – a section for a hotel and a section for businesses.
The hotel part of the facility will have 189 rooms, four suites, wellness, fitness, and congress centers, restaurants and bars. The other part of the building could host several technology companies.
While we must patiently wait until Split’s newest skyscraper is completed, here’s a look at how the soon to be the tallest tower in Croatia is progressing – and check out those spectacular views from the top!
