Croatian flag carrier issues first preliminary report for 2015
According to the preliminary report sent out by Croatia Airlines on February 29, 2016, this company achieved a net profit of 13,8 million kunas in 2015, which is now the third year in a row in which the Croatian flag carrying airline has shown positive numbers.
Compared to 2014, Croatia Airlines has increased its net profit by 83%, but the absolute amount of this increase is actually a very modest one when we express it in kunas – 6,3 million. Total revenue in 2015 was 1,55 billion kuna and they were on the same level as in 2014. Total business expenses were 1,53 billion kunas, and they were also the same as the year before.
In 2015, Croatia Airlines transported 1,85 million passengers, which is 1% more than in 2014 with average seat occupancy of 69,7%.
Along with some other facts and figures, the preliminary report also states that an agreement was made with Airbus on the conversion of 4 Airbuses A319 in order for them to fit the business interests of the company. Contracted changes include the replacement of the 4 Airbus ceo (current engine options) which were originally ordered with four top of the line Airbus neo (new engine options) airplanes. This means that in 6 years, which is when the existing A319 and A320 models will exit the fleet; Croatia Airlines will completely replenish its fleet with new, top of the line airplanes.
