January the 28th, 2026 – The Croatian National Bank’s Money Museum has gained recognition and attention by winning a prestigious world design award in London.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Moneterra – The Croatian National Bank’s Money Museum is the winner of the prestigious International Property Awards in the Best Public Service Interior category. This recognition confirms the excellence of the project, this time also at the global level. The award was presented to well known Croatian architect Ante Vrban, who designed Moneterra architecturally in its entirety and transformed it into the most technologically advanced museum in the entire region. The International Property Awards are otherwise the most prestigious international recognition in the field of architecture, interior design and real estate, and are awarded to the best projects on three levels – national, regional and global.
The Croatian National Bank’s Money Museum previously won two awards as part of the International Property Awards 2025: Best Public Service Interior – Croatia and Best Public Service Interior – Europe, thereby securing placement in the final, worldwide competition. These projects are first evaluated within their countries of origin, and the national winners then automatically enter the regional selection. The International Property Awards are presented in regions spanning Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Arabia, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe and the USA. After being named the best European project in the public space interior design category, Moneterra qualified for the global finals, where it also excelled.
The gala evening to announce the winners was held on the 16th of January at London’s incredible Savoy Hotel, where the third global award in the public spaces category once again highlighted Moneterra as an example of a superb blend of functionality, contemporary design and strong social value. The projects were judged by an international jury of 156 experienced experts – architects, civil engineers and the world’s leading experts in real estate market analysis – according to the highest and most rigorous professional criteria.
As a reminder, Moneterra opened back in the summer of 2024, and was conceived and realised through close cooperation of a multidisciplinary Croatian team, which combined knowledge from the fields of architecture, design, production and execution. The project was developed through the coordinated work of numerous experts and partners, with Real Grupa (Group) as the leading member of the community playing the role of project owner and coordinator. The Community of Contractors included Architect Ante Vrban, Studio Rašić & Vrabec, MA 18plus, Hust and Novena, whose joint contribution was crucial for the realisation of the project.
“We’re extremely honoured that Moneterra has been awarded the prestigious International Property Awards. This award confirms that Croatian teams can compete with the best in the world with their knowledge, creativity, expertise and teamwork. We’re proud of the excellent cooperation we had with the Croatian National Bank and we’d like to thank all the experts who participated in the implementation of this demanding project. Moneterra is much more than a museum – it’s an interactive centre that combines history, education and modern technology, all while offering a unique experience to visitors. That’s why we’re especially pleased that the space has been recognised at both the national and international level,” stated Krešimir Renzo Prosoli, the owner of Real Grupa.
Moneterra, a leading institution in promoting financial literacy across Croatia, was designed as an educational and interactive centre, allowing all who pay it a visit to explore the world of money, banking and monetary policy in an engaging and unusual way. Through various thematic zones, combining exhibitions, video content and interactive installations, visitors have the opportunity to learn about personal finances, the role of central banks and the history of money in an interesting, accessible and stimulating way.
