November the 11th, 2023 – Defence Minister Mario Banožić was involved in a very serious road accident this morning. Banožić has been seriously injured, while the driver of the van also involved in the crash has tragically died.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Defence Minister Mario Banožić was driving his own personal vehicle that collided with a van on the road this morning. As stated above, the driver of the van was sadly killed.
The police investigation at the scene is still ongoing and it will show how the tragedy occurred, resulting in one person killed and another, more specifically the defence minister, very seriously injured. Večernji list has learned from police sources that it is said that the traffic accident allegedly occurred when the minister overtook a truck on the road and collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle, which was a van.
It rained yesterday and last night, and the roads are wet and very slippery, there was also thick fog last night and throughout this morning.
Defence Minister Mario Banožić allegedly had absolutely no alcohol in his blood.
