The Pelinkovac Pralines Taste Test
We have not had a chance to taste what sounds like heaven, so we’ll share the impressions from Index. As they say, maybe there are people who would immediately wave their hand at the mention of this bitter drink, but the pralines do not contain any of the Pelinkovac that might have put you in an awkward situation after a few shots.
The chocolate exterior is similar to the standard Kraš pralines, such as Griotte. The filling is creamy, very smooth, and dense, with a caramel and chocolate flavor. The herbs typical of Pelinkovac come in as subtle hints. If you are bothered by the alcohol content (3.5 percent) and if you don’t like to taste it in sweets, for that matter – there is no unpleasant “kick” (not that they would complain at Index). For comparison, Griotte pralines definitely pack more of a punch.
They conclude that these are an excellent adult praline, and have no doubt that they will be a hit, both as dessert and as a unique gift. Sweet story.
