The design and all technical solutions for cruises in the polar regions will be done by the work of Brodosplit experts.

After months of negotiations, a series of technical innovative solutions, and strong international competition, Brodosplit was contracted to build the cruise ships for polar regions (Polar Expedition Cruise Vessel). The contract was signed on 08.11.2016 in the Netherlands by the leading company for commercial tourism in the polar region.

“By signing this agreement, Brodosplit ensures solid progress in the realization of their business plans and the inevitable position of the European shipbuilding system that builds highly complex vessels which achieves high competitiveness,” said Tomislav Debeljak, CEO of Brodosplit. The emphasis in this shipbuilding niche is added value for customers and for the builder, which is the basis for a successful business.

The ship will be built in the class LR PC6 (Polar Class 6), which will be the first cruise ship ever built in its class in the world. The 8 decks will host 196 passengers in 95 cabins of which 69 crew members will look after. The ship will be 107.6 meters long and 17.6 meters wide, and will be driven by two engines with a total output of 4200 kW – to catch up to the speed of 15 knots.

The ship will be equipped with all necessary solutions and equipment to ensure that passengers can fully visit glaciers above and below sea level while enjoying the observation of unique biological and animal life from the best perspective. At the board, luxury cabins and suites will be placed where they will be secured with multiple systems that serve them, providing a safe and pleasant stay.

The experts at Brodosplit will take care of the design and all of the technical solutions of this project, confirming their key role and high position on the list of technical competencies and building competitiveness.

Delivery time is 2019.
