President of Most Božo Petrov held an extraordinary press conference
Božo Petrov, president of Croatian political party MOST, held a press conference in Zagreb on November 11, 2015. Even though it was scheduled for 16:30, it started 20 minutes later when Petrov finally showed up to reveal wht was discussed in the talks with SDP and HDZ. Let us remind you, neither SDP not HDZ can construct a new government without MOST which has won 19 parliamentary seats in the elections held last Sunday.
Here is Petrov’s entire address:” MOST has started discussions with both SDP and HDZ. We believe what Croatia needs at this moment is unity. Within our own party we managed to overcome our different views and opinions so we expect of others to understand what is top priority for Croatia and to try and construct a government of national unity. This is the only way we can implement planned reforms since we need the support of 2/3 of the parliament for any changes to the Croatian Constitution. Unity is extremely important. We believe that we can act as a moderator in the unity of HDZ and SDP. We believe that after 25 years they can put their animosities and harsh words aside, at least for 2 years. This is absolutely necessary for Croatia”

Then he continued about the negotiation process: ” After the first and second phase we will define the candidate for the next Prime Minister. Today we talked about two main principles. Second one being that we all sit down at the same table. We will talk about a candidate for the next Prime Minister only after we agree on the first two phases” Petrov explained
When asked what will happen if both parties say no, Petrov stated” I believe there will be enough political wisdom so that will not happen”.
Petrov immediately left the room after his brief address refusing to answer any of the questions which were flying from all directions.
