Luka Modrić has once again found himself among the best footballers in the world.
Croatia football captain Luka Modrić has been chosen for the best team of the year, again! This time, the honored Croatian midfielder was chosen by the renowned French nationwide daily sports newspaper L’Equipe for their best team of 2017. Modrić was also included in the French portal as part of their best team last year, reports Gol.hr on January 2, 2018.
The L’Equipe team of journalists chose an offensive version of the 4-4-2 formation, in which only two places were reserved for the midfielders. Modrić’s chosen partner in the middle of the pitch is Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.

This is yet another new acknowledgement for Modrić after he placed fifth in the prestigious Golden Ball (Ballon d’Or) which was won by Cristiano Ronaldo this year. FIFA also named the Croat on their best team of 2017. Behind Modrić is another year of trophies as the Croat won the La Liga title in Spain with Real Madrid, the Champions League, the European and Spanish Super Cup and the World Club Championship where he was named the best player.

Modrić was also included on the best team of 2017 in the selection of 150,000 L’Equipe readers. Compared to the team chosen by journalists, there are only two differences – Samuel Umtiti was chosen instead of Hummels, while attacker Harry Kane made the list over Cavani.
Bravo to Croatia’s best footballer!
