Peristil square is no stranger to art performances, but on January 8, 2016, it was used for a performance of a different kind. As reported by Dalmatinski Portal, Ancient square of emperor Diocletian in Croatia’s second largest city was covered with a massive replica of a Hajduk membership card at sunrise by members of Torcida, supporters of this football club.
The membership card replica was followed by a banner saying “Member = Owner”. The message of this performance is clear to anyone following football in Croatia, its goal is to entice Hajduk supporters to purchase their annual membership and help the club during these hard financial times. As of this year, each Hajduk membership fee is treated as a debit note, and all raised funds will be used to buy Hajduk shares during the recapitalization process.
According to the press release from Hajduk, in the first week of 2016, more than 2000 people purchased their annual membership which is 100% more than during the same period in 2015.
Membership has many benefits since along with the exclusive rights to use the products and services offered to members only; it gives you the right to have your say and actively participate in all the changes implemented in the club.
