The popular Valamar chain steps up the game when it comes to being environmentally friendly!
As Glas Grada reported on the 21st of July, 2017, Dubrovnik hotels Valamar Dubrovnik President and Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik, as well as Valamar Koralj Romantic, Porec Valamar Club Tamaris and Rabac Valamar Sanfior are set to be the only hotels in Croatia that will be honoured with the famous green stamp of TUI Environmental Champion 2017 (TUI Umwelt Champion).
The TUI award has been in existence since the year 1996 and is given in recognition of responsible and sustainable hotel management. Annually, it is awarded to just over 200 hotels worldwide which successfully meet the very strict criteria of sustainable management and corporate responsibility. Hotels that have a valid Sustainability Certificate issued by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) are nominated for the prestigious and much sought-after award. The TUI award is only awarded after an official audit, with impartial guest reviews taken by TUI also playing an important stake in the decision.
