Screen on the Green will take place August 31 – September 10.
If you were already starting to worry when you will be able to watch films in Zagreb parks this year because there has been no word of Screen on the Green yet, which usually takes place earlier in the year, have no fear – the seventh edition of everyone’s favourite open-air cinema at three green locations around the city will take place August 31 – September 10.
All screenings are free and they will take place at Jarun, as was the case during previous years, and new locations include Tuškanac Summer Cinema and the meadow next to the fountains at Hrvatske bratske zajednice Street.
Other news is that there is a new overhead projector, one that uses DCP (Digital Cinema Package) technology, which means that the visual quality will be better, and the fact that, after presenting it for the first time last year, solar energy will be used to power the screens again this year. The Solar Cinema Adria system includes a van that will be collecting the Sun’s energy throughout the day so it could power the screens during the night, which fits the “green” part of the festival perfectly.
Chris Ian and Hrvoje Baudoin’s concert will open the festival on August 31 at 8 p.m., there will be KOZa general knowledge quizzes on September 1 and 9, and lots of great shorts and feature-length movies in the meantime.
