Demolition of Žnjan: Fascinating Drone Video Captures Ruins of Famous Split Beach

The current state of one of Split’s most frequented beaches, via drone. 

If you’re in Split, Dalmatia, or anywhere in Croatia for that matter, you’ve probably heard about the demolition of illegal objects at one of Split’s most famous beaches, Žnjan.

Earlier this week, cranes and bulldozers blasted through dozens of catering facilities once known as favorites to many citizens of Split. The area today is reminiscent of a war zone. 

What will happen to the once famous Žnjan, we are still unsure, but today, we can all take a closer look at the absolute destruction of the Split beach through a brilliant drone video released by Cro Drone on October 26, 2017.

To be fair, there are many mixed feelings about the current situation of Žnjan. While the objects were indeed illegal, many felt that demolishing them without a concrete plan could only hurt the favored area for next year’s tourist season. 

Cro Drone shares their sentiment on the matter with the caption:

“The owners of the objects at Žnjan should still be allowed to work until the actual realization of something new. Doing it this way, Žnjan will go without anything to offer.” The author ends it with the hashtag “no more Žnjan”.
