ZAGREB, February 26, 2018 – After meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Monday, his coalition partners said that they were told that an administration comprising several members in the private ailing Agrokor food conglomerate would be appointed in the next few days.

Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) leader Darinko Kosor is convinced that the situation in Agrokor will be resolved by the middle of this week.

“We will have a new administration with a few members. Today, representatives of all creditors are going to meet with the government to show their support and for the process to continue. We are all working together so that everything can be completed by 10 July,” Kosor said, referring to a deadline stipulated by the legislation.

“If by 10 July a settlement is reached, then this parliamentary majority and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković will have succeeded without spending one kuna of the taxpayers’ money to pull Agrokor out of its problems, and we all know that the debts are 60 billion kuna. If we do that without one kuna of the taxpayers’ money, then we will have succeeded, and we will know that on 10 July,” Kosor said.

Branko Hrg (Croatian Democratic-Christian Party) said that specific names for Agrokor administration were not mentioned, however, he expects that the prime minister will announce the names in the next 2-3 days, while Radimir Čačić (Reformists) said that there were several qualified candidates and that a solution would be found in the shortest time possible.
