Mark your calendars, EuroBasket 2017 begins!
At Eurobasket 2017, which will be held from August 31 to September 17, 2017, the Croatian basketball team will play in Group C in the Romanian city of Cluj. Croatia’s rivals in the group are Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Spain and Montenegro after the draw that was decided in Istanbul earlier this year, reports Gol.hr on August 31, 2017.
The first part of the Eurobasket tournament will be played in Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey, while the round of 16 to the finals of the competition will be played in Istanbul.
Placement in the round of 16, or the “knockout stage”, will be ranked by the four best-placed teams from each group. The Croatian group will crossover with Group D, which includes the United Kingdon, Russia, Serbia, Latvia, Turkey and Belgium.

Group A: Finland, Iceland, France, Greece, Slovenia, Poland
Group B: Israel, Lithuania, Italy, Georgia, Germany, Ukraine
Group C: CROATIA, Romania, Hungary, Spain, Czech Republic, Montenegro
Group D: Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Latvia, Belgium, United Kingdom
Croatia will open their EuroBasket competition on September 1, 2017, against Hungary, followed by another lightweight opponent, Romania. For the last game in the group, Croatia will play the Czech Republic on September 7, 2017.
