The Croatian midfielder has finally broken his silence about a possible transfer from Barcelona.
“In the last days I’ve been thinking, looking at all the options and it is a great honor for me to defend this jersey, I am proud and I hope I will be at Barcelona for a long time,” Ivan Rakitić said after Barcelona defeated Valladolid with 1:0, reports Goal.hr on August 26, 2018.
The Croatian midfielder has, therefore, finally given an answer to the speculation about his future – admitting himself that though many clubs wanted him, he would not leave Barcelona.
“It’s a great thing to play at the best club in the world. I talked to my wife, family, and agent and we have all decided that we are good at the club and that no one else can offer what Barcelona offers us.”
“Many clubs have asked for me, they wanted to bring me over, but I’ve been thinking about my family over the last few days and I’ve made a decision – I want to stay at the club.”
“Thank you to the coach for his nice words, the managers, teams and supporters. I have been privileged and will give everything to win trophies with this club. Now the most important thing is to work for the next game in the best possible way,“ Rakitić concluded.
