December 18, 2018 – Total Waterpolo has chosen the best male and female water polo players in the world in 2018 – Felipe Perrone and Ekaterina Prokofyeva! Croatia’s Luka Lončar also made the best team in the world for the second consecutive year.

Total Waterpolo has chosen Spanish national team player Felipe Perrone as the best men’s player in 2018!

The great year now ends with the highest possible individual award in the world of water polo – Total Player 2018. Perrone thus succeeds Sandro Sukno who missed this entire season due to heart surgery.

The importance of the Total Player election lies in the fact that the winners are selected by a jury composed of 40 of the most admired sports coaches, nine national water polo portals, and voices of the fans. Perrone won the award in an exciting competition with Serbian representative Andrija Prlainović, who finished in second with just 3 points behind Perrone (75-72).

In the women’s competition, the best player in the world was declared Russian Ekaterina Prokofyeva, who won the title in front of Dutch player Catharina van der Sloot and Hungarian player Rite Keszthelyi.

The best teams in the world were also selected in the ‘Total Seven 2018’ competition. Croatia’s Luka Lončar continued with last year’s form and fans re-elected him as the best center in the world. Lončar joined Greece’s Ioannis Fountoulis, Montenegrin player Aleksandar Ivovic, Serbian national teammates Andrija Prlainović and Dušan Mandić, Spanish goalkeeper Dani Lopez Pinedo, and, of course, Felipe Perrone.
